My friend Sharlene brought me some delectable goodies from the USA. I decided to make these brownies with the Hersheys choc chips. Delicious!


120g butter, 3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 1/2 cup flour, pinch salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/4 cup chopped pecans, 1/2 cup choc chips.

Melt the butter and cool. Then whisk together the butter, eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and mix. Sift in the dry ingredients and fold in gently. Do not over mix. Fold in the nuts and choc chips. Pour the mixture into a greased 25x18 cm baking dish. Sprinkle the top with some choc chips and bake at 180degrees celsius for 25 to 35 minutes. Cool in the dish for 10 minutes then slice into squares and place on a cooling rack to cool completely. Serve as is with a dusting of icing sugar or serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
