Camembert in Puff Pastry
1 circular camembert, 1 sheet puff pastry, 1/2 onion chopped, salt, pepper, brown sugar, beaten egg.
Fry the chopped onion in some butter. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and 1/4 teaspoon brown sugar. Fry the onions until dark brown and set aside to cool. Cut the pastry into a 25cm circle. (I used a pot lid)! Place one half of the camembert in the centre of the pastry. Place the fried onions on top and cover with the second half of the camembert. Cut the pastry from the edge of the camembert to the end of the circle into 8 pieces. Fold each piece to the centre of the camembert. Press down to seal the pieces together. Brush with the beaten egg and bake at 200degrees celsius until golden brown - about 20 minutes. Let the pastry stand for 30 minutes before cutting into slices. A truly delicious starter or snack!
