Potato Bake with Fresh Cream
Creamy, Cheesy Potato Bake! Fabulous side dish for a roast.
6 potatoes, 250ml fresh cream, 2 teaspoons crushed garlic, salt, pepper, 1 cup grated cheese.
Boil the potatoes until cooked but firm. Cool the potatoes and peel and slice them. Grease an oven proof dish with butter and place a layer of potato slices at the bottom. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Lightly beat the crushed garlic into the fresh cream and pour half the cream over the potatoes. Repeat the process with another layer of potatoes, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and pour over the remaining cream. Sprinkle the cheese over the top and bake at 180degrees selsius for 45 minutes, or until the cheese is nice and brown. You could add slices of red pepper or sliced mushrooms with each layer.
Tip: Before boiling the potatoes lightly slice into the skin around the middle of the potato. When the potatoes are cooked it makes it much easier to peel.
