Meatballs with Mash and Mushroom Sauce

Comfort food at it's best!

500g mince meat(lamb, beef or chicken), spices, 1/2 finely chopped onion, 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste, 2 tablespoons chopped coriander, chilli, 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs.

Place the mince in a bowl (I used chicken mince) and add the spices (I used thyme, salt and pepper, and a touch of cumin powder), onion, ginger and garlic and coriander. Mix well. Add the egg and mix well. Finally add the breadcrumbs. Shape into balls and place on a greased baking tray. Place in the fridge for an hour to set and then bake at 180deg celsius for 25 minutes. While the meatballs are cooking make some mash and some white sauce. Add some cooked mushrooms to the white sauce. I also roasted some butternut and brocolli. To serve, spoon some mash onto a plate, place the meatballs on top of the mash and spoon the mushroom sauce over the meatballs. Finish with some cracked black pepper. Enjoy!
