This is a great accompaniment to any roast. We also never have a braai or barbecue without it!


1 tin of Koo baked beans in tomato sauce, 1 onion chopped, 2 tomatoes chopped, curry leaves, coriander, half a teaspoon of ginger and garlic, 1 teaspoon of crushed garlic, 1-2 teaspoons curry powder, green chilli, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds.

Fry the onion in oil. When the onions are soft add the cumin and curry leaves and green chilli. Fry until the onions turn light brown. Add the curry powder and fry for a minute. Then add the tomatoes, ginger and garlic paste, crushed garlic, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are nice and soft. Add the baked beans and cook on very low for 20 minutes. After ten minutes add lots of coriander saving some to garnish once the chutney is fully cooked. If you do not want it too hot then leave out the chilli and cut down on the curry powder.
