This recipe is very quick and easy and needs minimal spices as the taste comes from the olive oil and prawns. You will need a good olive oil as this serves as the sauce.


1 box prawns (800g), 1 packet bacon, 500g frozen stir fry vegetables, 5 spring onions, salt, pepper, olive oil, butter, crushed garlic, Half of a 500g packet of pasta (I used penne).

Remove the heads and shells from the prawns and de-vein them. I leave the tails on. Place in a bowl and add salt, crushed garlic and 1 teaspoon of curry powder. You could use cayenne pepper or paprika. Boil the pasta in salted water. As the pasta is cooking place the stir fry vegetables in some olive oil and fry until cooked. Add salt and pepper and add the chopped spring onions just before removing from the heat. Keep some spring onions for the prawns. Place the vegetables in a bowl and set aside. In the same pan fry the bacon and add it to the vegetables. In the same pan add a generous amount of olive oil and butter and add the prawns. Cook prawns for only two minutes on each side. Add the remaining spring onions and cook for a minute. Drain the pasta when cooked but still firm. Add the vegetables, bacon and prawns together with the oil and butter that the prawns were cooked in to the pasta. Toss so that all the pasta is coated with the sauce. Check for seasoning and serve.
