Lamb kebabs in a curry sauce

These kebabs are delicious in a curry sauce but you could fry the kebabs in a little oil and serve it in pita bread with the same salad I have made here. I have made roti (recipe on next page) to go with the kebab curry but you could serve it with rice or bread or make your own bunny chow!


500g lamb mince, 11/2 chopped onion, chopped coriander, chopped chillies (as hot as you like), 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, salt, curry powder, tumeric, ginger and garlic paste, 3 tomatoes grated.

Place the mince in a bowl. Add 1/2 a chopped onion, the chopped coriander, the chillies, cinnamon, cumin, 2 teaspoons ginger and garlic and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well and form into balls. I got 13 kebabs. Place the kebabs on a baking tray and place under the grill to set and turn slightly brown. This only takes a few minutes so keep an eye on the oven. Remove from the oven and set aside. Start with the curry sauce by placing a little oil in a pot on medium heat. Add the onions, a cinnamon stick, and curry leaves to the oil. Cook until the onions turn slightly brown. Add 2 teaspoons curry powder,(more or less depending on the heat you prefer), 1/2 teaspoon tumeric powder, 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic, salt to taste. Cook for a minute. Then add the grated tomatoes and cook for a few minutes. Then add the kebabs and cook for half an hour. When the kababs are cooked garnish with coriander. Serve with roti or rice and a salad made up of chopped onion, tomato, cucumber and coriander. Enjoy!
