Here are two easy recipes made with store bought puff pastry and very little cooking involved.
Puff Pastry Cheese Straws (I saw this on "Siba's Table" on TV)
1.Two equal sized pieces of ready rolled puff pastry.
2. Hot sauce or pesto of your choice. (I love the coriander and lime pesto from Woollies)
3. Cheddar cheese and mozzarella if you like.
Spread one piece of the pastry with the hot sauce and cover with grated cheese. Place the second piece of pastry over the cheese and press down. Slice into strips. Pinch the ends of each strip and twist. Bake at 200deg celcius until golden brown.
Puff Pastry Slices.
1. Ready rolled puff pastry.
2. Sauce of your choice.
3. Mushrooms and red peppers.
Fry the mushrooms and pepper in a little olive oil. Add crushed garlic, salt and pepper.
Cut the pastry into slices. Score the pastry leaving a border. Spread each slice with the sauce (I used Woollies pizza topping) excluding the outer border. Place the mushroom and pepper over the sauce. Brush the border with egg wash and bake at 200deg until golden brown.
